What is your dog worth?

MISS CUTIE

I am sitting next to a lovely lady on the airplane who has her dog in a seat next to her. We start to talk about the role her pet plays in her life. She said, “I always buy a first class seat for my dog.” She then tells me the worth of her pet, I almost choked.

After returning home, preparing to write my next book in the Lady Bird series, I assembled a focus group to get an idea of what a pet meant to each person. I  want to share some of their comments with you. It was a lively discussion. Some of the answers I can’t print on my blog.

THE RESULTS! A FEW EXAMPLES…..

♥ A companion that do not leave the toilet seat up ( A middle aged married female)

WELCOME TO MY NEW BLOG by GRACIE BRADFORD

While drinking my hot tea laced with a little something that I won’t discuss around young people, my college age grandson decided to give me a lesson in social media. The conversation went like this:

Grandson: “G-Mom, you need to set up a blog so that people get to know you as an author.”

Grandma: “That’s cool. Everybody knows me. By the way, what is a blog?”

Grandson: “You were a senior executive, and don’t know how to blog? That’s crazy… if you know how to write books, you know how to blog.”

Grandma: “Although I hired experts to take care of my media department, if you give me instructions I can do just about anything. But, since you just finished a course on Information Technology, you should set up a blog for your technology challenged grandmother.”

Grandson: “G-Mom, I would not want to deny you the privilege of learning a new skill. You taught me to dig deep and never let anything get in the way of progress. You taught me that I could do anything that anybody else can do. You taught me to explore new challenges. You taught me to (G-Mom gives him THE LOOK) shut up when I am about to put my foot in my mouth. But, I must say one last thing – I love you G-Mom!
